Welcome
I provide mental health therapy and clinical supervision.
Asking for help with mental health can be challenging, and I honor the risk my clients take in joining me in a therapeutic relationship.
Thank you for being here!
I’m currently accepting clients and supervisees.
About Me
Maddy Gribbon, LCSW
she/her/hers
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Oregon and I offer mental health therapy for adults and supervise associate clinicians pursuing licensure. Some of the ways in which I identify include white, queer, cisgendered, and able-bodied. I grew up in Portland and love working in my home community.
After graduating from the University of Oregon with a BA in Family and Human Services, I lived outside of Oregon for over ten years, eventually earning my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, in 2018 and moving back to Portland in 2020.
I believe that a therapeutic relationship should be rooted in nonjudgment, social justice, and an exploration of your strengths and needs. Humans are complex! There are many ways to be and exist in the world, and I aim to understand and support yours. My practice as a therapist focuses on seeing you holistically with your mind, body, experiences, and environment playing into who you are and what we can build together.
How I work
All are welcome here! I don’t need you to know what you’re looking for or what modalities work for you—come as you are and we’ll figure it out together!
My clinical background includes working with substance use disorders, people involved in the criminal legal system, and those with complex trauma histories. I passionately support people identifying as LGBTQIA+ and can provide letters for gender-affirming medical care.
If you’re interested, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Flash Technique. I utilize these along with psychodynamic approaches, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, harm reduction, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and other modalities depending on what we uncover together.
